The initiative saves time and money for the UK public sector procurement by nominating pre-approved Cloud service providers, so organisations can find suppliers without the need to run a full tender process. Through G-Cloud, CCS delivers savings to the front-line services and the taxpayer by aggregating spend and driving increased value.

The G-Cloud service is a network of over 5,200 suppliers, and can be accessed by organisations across the UK public sector, including: health, emergency services, defence, not-for-profits, central government and local government. It centrally manages the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government. The set criteria that providers are required to meet includes standards of reliability and security, meaning public sector bodies can easily select suppliers, knowing these standards are already met regarding information technology services which use cloud computing.

Tracey Warwick, Bid Manager at Benefex, said of the news:

“G-Cloud is an important part of our commitment to deliver exceptional employee experiences to people across all sectors, including the UK public sector that it serves The fact that the acceptance progress is so rigorous makes our seventh year of success an achievement that we’re really proud of.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) works with both departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery. The CCS goal is to become the “go-to” place for expert commercial and procurement services.
