Benefex has bolstered its employee benefits by partnering with Halfords to offer the UK’s first car maintenance salary sacrifice scheme.

Friday 25th June 2021, LONDON. Halfords car maintenance salary sacrifice scheme is now available to Benefex OneHub users. The scheme lets employees spread the cost of car servicing, MOTs, repairs and tyre replacements via salary sacrifice - resulting in employee savings of up to 12% on the work carried out.

Regardless of whether people commute, maintaining a car is currently a big cost to employees, with the average cost of running at £1295 a year. This new scheme helps workers reduce that cost and spread it across manageable monthly payments.

The scheme provides employees with access to a UK-wide network of Halfords Autocentres, stores and mobile experts.

With the transition to electric vehicles the team at Halfords can carry out maintenance on  electric cars and  have an additional 1,500 trained technicians to help support the  customers with electric vehicles.

Chris Oakley, Head of Commercial at Halfords said, “Car Maintenance can be a significant financial burden on households. Through this solution employees can spread the cost and make a saving along the way, whilst ensuring their car is safe to drive.”

Gethin Nadin, Director of Employee Wellbeing at Benefex, said, “As we return to a model of hybrid working many people will be looking to their car to get to work flexibly. This scheme supports them financially and lets them keep their cars running as efficiently and sustainably as possible.”
