We are thrilled to announce that Benefex has been accepted into the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) G-Cloud 9 framework. After two and-a-half years as part of the G-Cloud network, we have continued our commitment to aiding public sector bodies in their mission to give their employees a great experience at work.

The G-Cloud initiative is targeted at easing procurement by public sector bodies, as they can avoid running a tender – thereby saving valuable funds and time – as they can find suppliers who have already passed the G-Cloud set criteria. In using this service, CCS is able to deliver savings to front-line services and the taxpayer by aggregating spend to drive best value.

In order to be accepted into the framework, G-Cloud suppliers must pass a number of criteria, so, public sector bodies entering into a commercial relationship know that these criteria are already met. The aim of CCS is to work with departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery. CCS manages contracts and supplier performance to ensure that the Government acts as a single customer; freeing up individual organisations to focus their procurement expertise on what is unique to them.

Gethin Nadin, Director, Global Partnerships, said:

“Engaging employees in the public sector has never been more important than it is now. The constraints of public sector pay combined with the importance of robust compliance procedures, and the focus on value for money create a strong case for implementing fantastic employee value propositions (EVP) for public sector employers.

“As G Cloud matures, more and more organisations are using it to procure platforms like OneHub. When we first got accepted onto the framework a few years ago, around £87 million a year was being spent through it. In 2016, that figure rose to a huge £715 million. As organisations get more familiar and comfortable with G-Cloud as a concept, they are seeing almost all Government or Public Sector digital spending being procured through it.”

Why is the employee experience so beneficial to the public sector?

As the first employee experience platform, Benefex’s OneHub software is uniquely placed to offer businesses an employee value proposition (EVP) which sets them apart from their competition. Through exceptional employee experiences, employers can attract the best talent in their respective fields, engage their people by making the most of their interactions every day, and inspire them to grow with their organisation.

Councils make around 75,000 appointments every year, with the average cost of filling a vacancy lying somewhere between £4,333 and £7,750. So, keeping staff on board not only saves the public sector time, but also money. A compelling EVP and meaningful employee experience are key to ensuring that employees remain loyal, motivated, and productive.

OneHub offers public sector employers the chance to manage their online benefits, quickly and easily access real-time analytics, create inspiring and tailored communications to maximise the impact of their EVP, and streamline their HR team’s administrative burden. The combination of savings made through salary sacrifice, plus the reduction in administration, and the increase in employee productivity as a result of a great EVP makes OneHub a cost-effective and valuable investment in the employee experience for public sector bodies.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) works with both departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery. The CCS goal is to become the “go-to” place for expert commercial and procurement services.
